Niekoniecznie Ale jak już pisałem - jeżeli ktoś odczytuje Koran z pełną dosłownością, nie licząc się z tym że jego wymagania etyczne pochodzą z zupełnie rożnej epoki, to pewnie od razu nasuwają się myśli fanatyczne. Kwestia interpretacji na nowym gruncie społecznym. Faktem jest że wielu duchownych świata islamu nie chcę nawet o tym słyszeć. Salman Rushdie nawoływał do reformy islamu:
